Plot Overview

George, the manager of a diner in Summit, Illinois, is waiting inside his diner when two suspicious looking men dressed in all black show up. The two men begin to nag George and the other waiter, Nick, calling them dumb country boys. After the diner is pretty much empty, one of the men orders the waiters and the cook to get in the kitchen where he ties them up. While they are waiting, the two men tell George their plan to kill the aging boxer, Ole Andreson. Andreson ends up never coming and the two men leave. George unties everyone in the back and tells them of the men's plans.Nick runs to Ole Andreson's home and warns him of the two men trying to kill him and the aging boxer simply blows it off because he is "tired of running". Nick returns to the diner and explains to George that he wants to leave the town because he cannot live while knowing that someone he knows is okay with getting killed.
