Literary Devices

Symbol- One universal symbol in "The Killers" is the black clothes of the killers. Dark clothing usually represents death, corruption, and evil. All three are portrayed in this short story and the reason the killers are the ones in black is because they are the ones that are most corrupted and are going to kill Ole Andreson.

Point of View- The point of view of "The Killers" is third person limited because we can see the thoughts and feelings of only Nick, the protagonist. This plays a big role in the story because at times we can see where Nick is really nervous or scared about the killers. Also, if we were able to see the killers' thoughts and feelings, the story would be much different because it the story would be a lot more negative and corrupted.
